Opera singer Barbara Conrad was denied the opportunity to perform with a white male co-lead while she was a student at the University of Texas in the 1950s. At the time, members of the Texas Congress were a driving force behind her being banished from her chance to perform. On Thursday she was honored at the same place which had denied her so many years ago.
